Writing Children Essay Topics

Writing Children Essay TopicsWhen it comes to writing children's essay topics, they should be about any subject that interests them. It does not matter if they are in elementary school or college students, they should have some interest in their topic. It may seem like the theme of the essay will be the most important aspect of writing the assignment, but remember that the students may not feel that they are being involved in the topic enough. In order to help make sure that your children essay topics are not boring, you may want to start by narrowing down your selections. Do you know what type of books have your child as a fan of? Do you know what type of magazines he has read? These questions may help to narrow down your choices. The next thing you want to do is write a few short paragraphs discussing what your child thinks about the topic. You may also want to provide some links to websites where he can go to learn more about the topic. If your child is into video games, then he may find it easier to relate the topic to video games. When you ask your child to explain why he feels a certain way, you may want to focus on his viewpoint and your observations about the world. However, you do not want to limit the length of your essay and just provide a lot of descriptive words. Provide interesting facts about the topic and provide some stories as well.Remember that the goal for your children's essay topics is to help them get an idea about the topic. They may not like the topic all that much but they may be interested in what they are reading. The teacher does not need to worry about them doing poorly if they just read the essay and understand it.Another thing you may want to remember is that children essay topics should be centered around the question. Try to think of a question that your child may ask himself as he reads the essay. For example, if your child finds himself asking why does that bear has one arm?The big reason for the bear having one arm is because i t is the dominant one, but it can also be used to give him protection from things that may hurt him if he were to get separated from it. In addition, if he was attacked by another bear, then he would still have the arm to defend himself. This is a very good illustration of how the essay topic should be answered.Once you have decided on the topic, it is important to set the stage for writing children's essay topics. This means that you will have to research the topic thoroughly and then write the essay in a way that will make it easy for your child to understand. He should see the information clearly, but he will not have to stop and work to figure out what you are saying.

Compare How Each Writer Makes You Feel Sympathy for the...

Both of the writers make me feel sympathy for the main characters because the main characters are both still in their youth and they both face the same fate – death. Although the characters are portrayed in very different situations, both writers show how powerless they are to avert their fate. By having an accident or tragedy in the pieces, the writers make the reader feel compassion because it is not the central characters fault. From saying that the boy was ‘a child at heart’ whilst ‘doing a man’s work’, Frost tells us directly how young the boy is and how he is not experienced enough to understand how important his hands are. He uses repetition of the word ‘child’ to emphasise how still is. In contrast, Andrà © and Jacob in The Last†¦show more content†¦This makes it is easier for the reader to imagine what is going to happen to Andrà © and Jacob. In this story, the ‘homely thudding of a Parisian bus’ is the sound that threatens the Jews waiting to be taken to a concentration camp. This makes the reader feel pity for the Jews because they will never hear the ‘familiar sound’ of the engine’s noise again. Faulks includes many descriptions of what the Jews are doing; he makes it clear how it is going to be their last time. In the beginning of the story, when the Jews are writing their ‘final message’, we are told how they are writing with ‘sobbing passion’ and others with ‘punctilious care’ even though they know that the ‘camp orders forbid access to the post.’ Even the description of Andrà © and Jacob huddling together lying on the straw makes the reader feel sorry for them. The sentence ‘Jacob’s limbs were intertwined with his for warmth’ shows how they both need each other. In both pieces, the central characters seem to be vulnerable and threatened by something they cannot control; they do not have power over their fate. Neither of the characters is aware of their impending fate. In ‘Out, Out –’, the boy does not deserve to die; the buzz saw cuts the boy’s hand because he loses his concentration at the sound of his sister saying ‘Supper.’ Even the people in both pieces wanting to help are powerless: the doctor in ‘Out, Out –’ injects the wrong amount of ether in the boy, leaving him

The Madness Of Prince Hamlet Essays (2180 words) -

The madness of prince Hamlet The madness of prince Hamlet. In Hamlet, Prince of Denmark the protagonist exhibits a puzzling duplicitous nature. Hamlet contradicts himself throughout out the play. He endorses both of the virtues of acting a role and being true to oneis self. He further supports both of these conflicting endorsements with his actions. This ambiguity is demonstrated by his alleged madness, for he does behave madly, only to become perfectly calm and rational an instant later. These inconsistencies are related with the internal dilemmas he faces. He struggles with the issue of revenging his fatheris death, vowing to kill Claudius and then backing out, several times. Upon this point Hamlet teeters through the play. The reason for this teetering is directly related to his inability to form a solid opinion about role playing. This difficulty is not present, however, at the start of the play. In the first act Hamlet appears to be very straightforward in his actions and inner state. When questioned by Gertrude about his melancholy appearance Hamlet says, Seems, madam? Nay it is. I know not seemsi (1.2.76). This is to say I am what I appear to be. Later he makes a clear statement about his state when he commits himself to revenge. In this statement the play makes an easy to follow shift. This shift consists of Hamlet giving up the role of a student and mourning son. Hamlet says, Iill wipe away all trivial fond records, All saws of books, all forms, all pressures past, That youth and observation copied there, And thy commandment all alone shall live Within the book and volume of my brain (1.5.99-103) Hamlet is declaring that he will be committed to nothing else but the revenge of his fathers death. There is no confusion about Hamletis character. He has said earlier that he is what he appears to be, and there is no reason to doubt it. In the next act, however, Hamletis status and intentions suddenly and with out demonstrated reason becomes mired in confusion. When Hamlet appears again in act two, it seems that he has lost the conviction that was present earlier. He has yet to take up the part assigned to him by the ghost. He spends the act walking around, reading, talking with Polonius, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, and the players. It is not until the very end of the act that he even mentions vengeance. If he had any of the conviction shown earlier he would be presently working on his vengeance. So instead of playing the part of vengeful son, or dropping the issue entirely, he hangs out in the middle, pretending to be mad. This is shown when he says to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern I know not-lost all my mirth, forgone all custom of exercise (2.2.298-299). Later he tells them that he is just feigning madness when he says, I am but mad north-north-west, when the wind is southerly, I know a hawk from a handsaw (2.2.380-381). Admitting so blatantly that he is only feigning madness would imply that he is comfortable with it. He also seems to be generally comfortable with acting This is evidenced when he says, there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so (2.2.251-252). Hamlet is saying that behavior shapes reality. It is puzzling that Hamlet is comfortable with playing at this point but not with the role that he said he would play earlier. If he is to play a role why not the one that his father gave him? When the players come in a short wile later his attitude changes. Hamlet is prompted to vengeance, again, by the moving speech that is given by one of the players. About this speech he says, Whatis Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba, That he should weep for her? What would he do Had he motive and cue for passion That I have? (2.2.561-564) In this praise of this players ability to act, Hamlet is saying that if he were such an actor he would have killed Claudius by now. This link between vengeance and acting that is present here is what Hamlet struggles with until very near the end. He is then moved to swear that he should kill Claudius when he says, I should ai fatted all the region kites With this slaveis offal. Bloody, bawdy villain! O, vengeance! Why, what an ass am I? (2.2.581-585) He makes this big buildup of what he should have done and how he will be revenged and he shoots it down in the next line. This passage is the model of Hamletis cognitive

Book Review on 1776 by David McCullough Essay Example

Book Review on 1776 by David McCullough Essay Example Book Review on 1776 by David McCullough Paper Book Review on 1776 by David McCullough Paper where one could find the Americans suffering a defeat by the British, although there were thousands of British casualties. The Americans recuperate and attempts an attack on a strategic place called Boston where the British found themselves unprepared by the attack causing the latter’ surrender and retreat back to England on their ships.[3] What could have explained the emotions that the Americans felt with said victory? Their spirits could not be higher at this point when after a defeat they could breath and wider space to make their advancement more strategic. Washington’s name at that point could only have greatest of honors. . As the books was not made to chronicle a straight victory but intermittent ones, it was found indeed that victory in Boston would not last long since the British was able to counter with an even larger army after returning from England. The British this time had with them a great number of navies that would surprise the Americans with their eyes wide open on where the troops came from. As a result, the Americans had retreat, to New York and thereby losing Boston very easily. Again nobody could have been more proud as the British who were very confident about themselves, as they saw the Americans as never a threat to them and the said British people at that time were expecting to defeat the Americans by a landslide. With battles continuing, the Americans being forced to retreat all the way down to New Jersey, after giving up precious territories along the way, their leadership was to find that their army had full of traitors who restored their loyalties to the British to the King of Great Britain, thus these people were branded loyalists.[4] Thus, given these factors including inexperienced men of American army, it was not surprising to have the Americans suffer defeats and retreats in the hands of General Washington. There were most crucial factors that could have led to the defeats and one of them was the fact that the British controlled the seas with a navy of powerful ships. It was for this reason that Washington suffered from losses at many places including Brooklyn, New Jersey and Fort Washington. It was not surprising to see this in the light of the strength of the British navy given the fact that the British has outnumbered the Americans in which almost double in terms of number of sol diers. Although causing Washingtons biggest nightmare, temporary defeats did not last long as Washington was able to keep his army together even though he doubted himself during several occasions. Thus turning point came with Washington having commanded his army to cross the Delaware River and afterwards begin the Battle of Trenton. This was therefore the first battle that gave the Americans a great hope for the cause of the war after the British evacuation of Boston in 1775. Washington called the Brilliant Strike as it was a surprising attack on the British who were defeated at Trenton and his caused Washington to become a legendary figure. It was in this battle that he led the defeat of the British and would further push them back out of Trenton. And so that continued for another six and a half years until the Paris peace treaty was signed in 1783[5], when e America finally achieved their de jure independence. Comment and assessment of author’s main point I agree with the author’s main point about the almost unrivalled power of the British forces since they are the colonizers compared to the Americans. It could only be by strong belief in what they can do may the revolution led by George Washington to win the Revolutionary war against the British forces. With the first defeat of the Americans against the American forces, one could only see how powerful they are in conquering the physical prowess and spirit of the Americans but the latter also displayed a rather insurmountable spirit as shown by the successful attack in Boston where the British was in fact caught by surprise. For the British to surrender and retreat back to England on their ships must be a sign of advancing American who are ready to give up everything in the name of freedom and democracy. The story saw a big reality of war as in games where victory could come and go. What caused the American to lose their temporary victory and would push them to retreat are attributable to two factors the presence of traitors and their being outnumbered. One could wonder how some would lose their loyalties. Does it mean that some were not convinced to go to war against the British forces? War is a great psychological game and does not only need mental power but also strength of the spirit. When on loses some part, the leadership is set up and it creates great doubts in the minds of the soldiers but every small victory is a psychological advantage. As in any other game there are turning points when after certain losses a time of victory will have to come as long as the fighting spirit was there. The Americans led by Washington must be very strategic in Washington’s order to his soldiers to cross Delaware River and after wards could begin the Battle of Trenton. For a general to be able to choose his battle so that some victory could be attained must be a wise decision. America is proud to have gained its independence since it fought for it. It had all the reasons to celebrate its independence since its people under Washington did not waiver with small defeats. They persevered until they gained their independence Final assessment on the strengths and weaknesses of the assessment I would like to believe that my assessment of the author’s main point is strong as far as the truth of the author’s assertions are concerned since the presentation of the author could corroborated with other evidence. The strength of my assessment lies therefore on the fact that it could be corroborated by other references. Using the rules of evidence, corroborating evidence would do much to strengthen the weight of evidence; hence the credibility of the story could confirm the credibility of the author. Its weakness may lie in whether all the other authors that I might read on American history of the war could have copied from one another. I mean it could be only be coincidental. The fact that at least two authors are talking of circumstance which corroborates each other is a proof of a good work and therefore a credible author. Conclusion It may be concluded that independence has a price to pay and to be proud about it one may need to go to war no matter how difficult it may be as what the American did in finally defeating their enemies. What could have been more glorious?

Ap American Dbq

There was a change, not a reformulation regarding political ideas and the ideas of the American Constitution that were part of the decision made by Jackson. Before Jackson the Native Americans were allowed their land but Jackson changed this policy for a racist agenda. The Indian Removal Act Of 1830, which evicted the Native Americans, was a change that had not been in place with the Native Americans before (Docs. A, H). The treaties brought about no benefit. Before Jacksons administration there had been agreements made between the Cherokees and the federal government (Doc. E).Jackson changed the idea of having treaties by saying the treaties with Indians are an absurdity (Doc. H). Instead of compromise Jackson wanted domination, a clear change in policy. The Intercourse Act, a constitutional law, protected the rights of the Indians (Doc. D). In the case of Cherokee Nation V. Georgia the Cherokees lost the case and therefore lost their protection. However, it can be argued that even if the Cherokees had won the case, Jackson still would have removed them from their land. Jackson had no respect for John Marshals decisions and, therefore, showed little respect for the Constitution. The Native Americans were no way a threat to the U. S. , nor were they savages. They were like the Americans in that they owned nice houses (Doc. L), were educated, farmed, many were Christian, and some were slave owners. Their constitutional republic was even modeled after the United States. John C. Calhoun even wrote in a letter to Henry Clay in 1820, he said that the Native tribes appear to be making gradual advances in industry and civilization (Doc. J). From the beginning of the United States, Native Americans were given rights to act as independent nations, and those rights were to be respected by following the Constitution. For example, Henry Knox, the Secretary of War in 1 789, wrote to President George Washington, The Indians, being the prior occupants, possess the right of the soil. It cannot be taken from them unless by their free consent, or by the right of conquest in case of a just war, (Document B). Because of this, the LIST allowed the Natives on American land their independent nations as they were the prior occupants, and their land shouldve never be taken unless they agreed to it or they were to lose it in a war. Although the united States policy sounded fair, for many years, the Natives were intentionally tricked into treaties that gave up huge amount of territory to the whites. Jacksons administrations decision to remove the Cherokee Indians was a change encompassing moral, political, constitutional, and practical changes, disregarding prior administrations concerns for his personal agenda. He passed the Indian Removal Act of 1 830 which evicted the Native Americans from their land, which angered them and could have brought about fighting. The Indians were further irritated when they tried to sue in Federal Court but were denied in Cherokee Nation Vs.. Georgia. They were more satisfied when they won the Worcester vs. . Georgia case. The Native Americans were at peace with the prior Administration and were happy with their land. When Jackson took office, the Native Americans were forced to move out of their homeland to lands west of the Mississippi, which was not something that would have been done in the previous administrations.
